The Tahitian pearls are from the pinctada margaritifera or black-lipped oyster found around the South Pacific. These pearls are often referred to as black, however their gorgeous colour range can vary from light, creamy white and silver through to peacock and pistachio greens and deep black. Unlike the more common pearl types, Tahitian pearls typically have a naturally dark body colour and they have become some of the most sought-after, expensive pearls in the world, so why not treat yourself to these very affordable studs.
