Silver Sepik River Mask Pendant
This pendant has a size of 4cm x 17mm and the mask has beautiful carved detail. The Sepik masks are a traditionally mystical mask that was created to represent the totem spirits. The Papua New Guinean people would hand make the masks out of mud or clay and then decorate them with materials such as shells and grass so that they would represent the spirits. The masks would be worn during ceremonies by the elders so that they could become the spirit teachers.
