Australian Boulder Opal on Black Cord
This boulder opal has purple/blue amongst an array of different boulder opal ironstone tones and pattern. The boulder opal has been drilled at the top where the adjustable black macramé cord is attached. Approximate size 3.5 cm in a free form square shape.
Australian solid opals are among the most precious gemstones in the world and are known for their eye-catching beauty and array of vivid colours. They range from 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness. Solid opal can be worn in water, however they do not like detergents, or any chemicals. It requires care when wearing so as to not scratch or break the stone. There are three different types of Australian solid opal: White Opal from South Australia, Boulder Opal from Queensland and Black Opal from Lightning ridge in New South Wales.
