Kalea means moon in the language of the Yasa village people from Manam Island. Each piece in this delicate collection features circles and swirls representing the moon and it’s gentle, yet powerful glow. These works present ancient female weaving skills which embody the stories and laughter shared by women as they weave together in the moonlight.
Earrings feature 30mm gold plated brass swirls connecting to a 40mm woven disc made from traditional natural fibre handcrafted by PNG artisans using ancient weaving skills. The ear hooks are gold filled, which is high content 14K gold heat bonded to a base metal which will not tarnish or fade.
