Silver Sepik Long Tribal Mask Earrings
These earrings are made from sterling silver and are inspired by the tribal masks from the Sepik area of Papua New Guinea. The Sepik masks are known to resemble the spirits of the people and each unique detail adds to the spirit it represents. During the ceremony of boyhood to manhood the elders attach these masks to the top of their dance costumes, so that they may become the spirit teachers. These earrings have the dimensions: 4.5x 1.6cm but the traditional masks from Papua New Guinea were hand made from mud and were usually around 1 meter in length.
